NJHS Timeline

Step 1: Achieve 3.5 GPA in Semester 1 and Quarter 3

All students will have to earn a 3.5+ GPA for 8th grade year

  • Eligibility updates will be sent via email to Parents and Students in Feburary after Semester 1 (January 24th, 2024 is the last day of the semester). 

  • The essay topic will be released in Feburaray, ONLY to the students who are eligible. Students will need to sign and turn in the National Junior Honor Society Student Pledge.

  • The final email update will take place after Quarter 3 to students who signed and turned in the National Junior Honor Society Student Pledge (April 4th, 2024 is the last of Quarter 3 ).

Step 2: Behavior Score of 1 or 2- Ongoing for Semester 1 and Quarter 3

All 1’s and 2’s for behavior (any behavior points outside of this range will not be accepted).

Step 3: Service as Action for completed- due April 29

Step 4: Draft a 500- word Essay

The essay topic will be released in February ONLY to the students who have an eligible GPA, Behavior Scores and who have signed the National Junior Honor Society Student Pledge.

Step 5: NJHS Ceremony

There will also be a rehearsal ceremony during school– accompanied with volunteer opportunities that will be announced prior to the ceremony.
