NJHS Timeline

Step 1: Achieve 3.5 GPA in Semester 1 and Quarter 3

All students will have to earn a 3.5+ GPA for 8th grade year.
  • Tentative eligibility updates will be sent via email to Parents/Guardians and Students following the end of Semester 1.
  • The final email update for eligibility will take place after Quarter 3 for students who signed and turned in the National Junior Honor Society Student Pledge.

Step 2: Behavior Score of 1 or 2- Ongoing for Semester 1 and Quarter 3

All 1s and 2s for behavior (any behavior points outside of this range will not be accepted).

Step 3: Service as Action form completed

Complete the Service As Action form

Step 4: Draft a 500-word Essay

The essay topic will be released after the 3rd Quarter, ONLY to the students who have an eligible GPA, Behavior Scores of 1 & 2, and who have signed the National Junior Honor Society Student Pledge.

Step 5: NJHS Ceremony

Date: TBD, beginning of June in the evening.
There will be a rehearsal during school. There will be volunteer opportunities for students to have a reading part that will be announced prior to the ceremony.
