South Hills Middle School
In the Fall of 2023, South Hills Middle School proudly unveils its brand-new campus. This cutting-edge facility boasts adaptable classroom furniture, versatile common areas, upgraded music and art studios, and advanced technology integrated into every learning space.
Student Senate
Students cross 6-8th grades make up the student senate which takes an active role in promoting a positive and inclusive school environment. They focus on addressing issues like anti-bullying and fostering a sense of community within the school.
International Baccalaureate
South Hills is a fully-authorized Middle Years Programme school of the world-recognized IBO providing a comprehensive interdisciplinary curriculum framework. The curriculum is designed around eight subject groups: language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and societies, design, mathematics, arts, science, and physical education and health.
Renovated Classrooms and Learning Spaces
In order to foster deep learning, care for children's well-being, and meet the needs of all students, classrooms are designed with a focus on active learning, future-proof design, and synergy with research-based teaching practices.

Registration is open for the 2025-26 school year.
The Michigan Department of Education allows students the opportunity to test out of high school math courses. Learn more about dates, times, and locations for these tests.
Learning never ends at BHS! From high school programs offering virtual and in-person experiences to our math & literacy enrichment for grades K-8, we are committed to providing continuous learning year-round. Details for this summer can be found on the Summer Learning page.
Thursday, June 12, 2025 will now be a half day of school for grades K-8 (BHHS remains a half day as previously planned). This change does not affect International Academy, nor Bloomin’ Preschools, nor Wing Lake Developmental Center.
